Special finishings: SPLIT FACE

Besides honed and polished finishing there are several other options for wall cladding finishings. One example is split face as is shown below in Moleanos limestone for a luxury bathroom. This project consisted of several bathrooms in Moleanos with different finishings. The combination of the diverse finishings using the same stone gives an unique harmony while highlights specific spots in the room: in this case the shower area. The special lighting gives the final touch and shows off the striking effect of this finishing.

Wall cladding

Limestone is a material of choice for wall cladding. A light coloured stone increases the luminosity of the place, an efect which is enhanced when is chosen a polished finishing as you can see above. By choosing a honed finishing instead you achieve a satin look, smooth and elegant, as you can see in the picture below.

Flooring

One of main applications for limestone is flooring. The range of chosen stones includes Moleanos, Moca Cream, Sintra beige, Valverde, Relvinha, etc in diverse finishings, being honed (above) one of the most usual for flooring followed by polished finishing (below).

However, other finishing options may be so or more interesting, as it is presented on the picture below, where Ruivina stone is sandblasted or bushammered and then brushed resulting on a satin touch.

Different flooring options, all of them showing all the potential of limestone in order to obtain a modern and exquisite ambience and its versatility to suit any taste.
